New Radiation Oncologist Joins HRMC Staff

Lake Havasu City, Ariz. (March 25, 2014) – Havasu Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to announce that Nicholas O. Roman, M.D., Ph.D. has joined the medical staff of Havasu Regional Medical Center.  

Dr. Roman is a Radiation Oncologist who received his medical and graduate degrees at the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona. While at the University of Arizona, Dr. Roman participated in pancreatic cancer research and published peer reviewed articles, as well as taught and mentored undergraduate students.  He completed his internship at the University of Arizona and radiation oncology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. During his residency he continued research analyzing lung tumor motion during radiation therapy treatment.  He also completed an externship at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.  

Dr. Roman has extensive experience in radiation therapy treatments, including Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), 3D Conformal External Beam Radiation Therapy, Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), and brachytherapy. He has received multiple honors and awards including the Wilhelm Roentgen Research Award, Vanderbilt Diversity Program Scholar, and University of Arizona Hispanic Alumni Excellent Graduate Student Award.
