Regaining your strength, balance, mobility or range of motion after a debilitating injury or illness can be a difficult task. Fortunately, the Inpatient Rehabilitation Program at Havasu Regional Medical Center provides a multi-faceted, interdisciplinary rehabilitative program. Our services include:

•Physical Therapy
•Occupational Therapy
•Speech/Language Therapy
•Home Healthcare
•Medical Social Services

Thanks to our dedicated, hard-working therapists, each patient receives at least three hours of daily personal therapy. Our spacious physical therapy area includes an activity room and gymnasium fully equipped with free weights, treadmill, stationary bike, parallel bars, an electric wheelchair, steps/stairs, poles, pulleys, and many other ergonomic aids used for a wide variety of therapeutic strategies.

Our occupational therapy program helps individuals who have experienced a stroke, trauma or neurological disorder to relearn basic self-care activities such as eating, grooming, bathing, dressing, and hygiene. Our activity room recreates a home setting so patients can practice home management skills, everything from loading a dishwasher to operating a microwave oven.

A full-time speech pathologist works with patients who suffer from severe language skill problems, memory loss, confusion, and loss of reasoning as well as problems with eating and swallowing.

Finally, when patients near completion of their individualized rehabilitation program, a community reintegration service helps them make a successful transition to normal life back home. This community-based therapy includes such simple tasks as going to the post office or shopping for groceries, as well as assessing the patient’s spiritual and emotional needs. A nurse or home healthcare worker is also available to help the patient and the family with any special needs.
