Community Disaster Preparedness Drill A Success

Community Disaster Preparedness Drill A Success

November 7, 2018

Havasu Regional Medical Center would like to thank Lake Havasu City Police Department, Lake Havasu City Fire Department, River Medical, Air Methods and the Community Emergency Response Team for their support with the “Fright Night” emergency preparedness training drill.

The incident scene for the drill was the vacant lot located at 1750 Mesquite Avenue. The scenario used involved someone driving a vehicle into a crowded festival resulting in 14 casualties of varying degrees of acuity that were transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center via local EMS entities.

“This was only a drill and we all learned some good ways to adjust our emergency response plan based on today’s exercise,” said Wes Taylor, Chief Operating Officer, HRMC. “Each time we drill we find ways we can improve so when the real thing happens, we’re ready.”
