Havasu Regional Medical Center Receives Level III Trauma Verification
June 6, 2017
Lake Havasu City, AZ (June 6, 2017) – Havasu Regional Medical Center Trauma Center receives verification by the American College of Surgeons.
The trauma center at Havasu Regional Medical Center has been verified as a Level III Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). This achievement recognizes the trauma center’s dedication to providing optimal care for injured patients.
Verification by the ACS ensures that HRMC provides not only the hospital resources necessary for trauma care, but also the entire spectrum of care to address the needs of all injured patients. This spectrum encompasses the prehospital phase through the rehabilitation process.
Verified trauma centers must meet the essential criteria that ensure trauma care capability and institutional performance, as outlined by the American College of Surgeons’ Committee on Trauma in its current Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient manual.
“HRMC was verified by the ACS with no deficiencies found, a sign of the commitment the team here at HRMC has to the trauma program. We employ full time Level I critical care trained trauma surgeons who are on call 24/7 365 days a year. Since the program’s inception we have been able to keep 321 patients who would have otherwise had to be transferred,” said Dr. Chris Salvino, HRMC Trauma Director.
