Mike Patterson Named Market President in Western Arizona
April 3, 2018
LifePoint Health today announced that Mike Patterson, chief executive officer (CEO) of Havasu Regional Medical Center, has been promoted to Market President in western Arizona, effective April 1. In this newly created leadership role, Patterson will continue to serve as CEO of Havasu Regional in Lake Havasu City while also assuming operational oversight of Valley View Regional Medical Center in Fort Mohave. Feliciano Jiron, CEO of Valley View, will continue serving as CEO of his facility, managing its daily operations and reporting to Patterson on regional issues.
“Havasu Regional and Valley View have collaborated with one another for a long time,” said Robert Klein, president of LifePoint’s Western Group, of which both hospitals are a part. “They have been able to improve their operations, assist one another with staffing, and work together to improve healthcare throughout the region they serve. To maximize their opportunities, they need a dedicated leader who is focused on regional growth and collaboration. Mike is a proven healthcare operator with a passion for delivering the highest quality care. We are confident that he is the right person to leverage the strengths of both organizations to advance the many ways they make communities healthier.”
Havasu Regional and Valley View are located less than 60 miles apart, providing many opportunities for the hospitals to partner with one another to grow, enhance quality and safety, attract new physicians, provide new opportunities to staff, and improve how they serve patients each day.
A distinguished hospital leader, Patterson has more than two decades of operational and management experience. He has served as CEO of Lake Havasu Regional Medical Center since September 2014. Prior to this role, he served as chief financial officer (CFO) and then CEO of Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan, Colorado – another hospital within the LifePoint Health system. He has also served in various hospital administrative and leadership roles.
“Lake Havasu and Valley View are both known for their commitment to providing the highest quality care, and I am honored to step into this expanded leadership role to lead these hospitals into the future,” said Patterson. “Thank you to the Lake Havasu City community for welcoming me with open arms over these last four years. I look forward to continuing to work with our incredible physicians and staff here and in Fort Mohave to improve the health of communities throughout western Arizona.”
Patterson earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Utah at Salt Lake City, and a master of business administration from Utah State University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). Patterson will remain located in Lake Havasu City.
